FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
questions about working with me
Got questions before you enquire? Good. A clear project starts with knowing what you’re walking into.
Here’s how working together usually looks, who I’m best suited to help, and what you can expect before, during and after your project. For detailed questions about a specific service, you’ll find those on the Website in a Week and Brand Design pages.
What types of businesses do you work with?
Most of my clients are beauty clinics, skin therapists, wellness businesses, skincare brands and service-based businesses that have outgrown the DIY stage. Usually, they already have something in place, but it’s not doing them justice anymore. The website feels clunky, the brand feels a bit mismatched, or the whole digital side of the business needs to feel more polished, more intentional and easier to manage.
Do you work with clients outside Canterbury?
Yes. I’m based in Canterbury, but most of my work happens online, so location isn’t a problem. I work with clients across New Zealand and Australia. Calls, content prep, design reviews and handover are all handled online, which means you don’t need to be local for the project to run smoothly.
Can I book branding and website design together?
Yes, and in some cases, that’s the smartest way to do it. If your brand and website both feel out of date, sorting the brand first gives the website a much stronger foundation. The design feels more cohesive, the decisions are easier, and the end result feels properly pulled together rather than patched up.
How do I know which service is right for me?
If your website is the thing holding you back, start with Website in a Week. If your logo, colours or overall look no longer match the quality of your business, Brand Design is probably the better first move. And if you’re not quite sure, that’s fine too. Send an enquiry, tell me what feels messy, outdated or harder than it needs to be, and I’ll help you work out the most useful next step.
What happens after I submit an enquiry?
Once your enquiry comes through, I’ll review your details and reply within 1 to 2 working days. If it looks like a good fit, I’ll invite you to book a short intro call. We’ll talk through your business, what you need help with, your timeline and whether the service you’re interested in is the right fit. From there, I’ll send through the next steps or a proposal.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Most larger projects are split into staged payments, so the investment is clear and manageable. You’ll see the payment structure before anything is confirmed. No surprise invoices. No vague “we’ll sort it later” energy.
Do I need to be ready to start straight away?
No, but it helps to enquire before things feel urgent. Some clients are ready to get moving quickly. Others are planning a few months ahead. If you know your website or brand needs attention soon, it’s worth reaching out early so we can look at timing properly. Good projects need a bit of breathing room.
Do you offer website hosting?
Yes. Maglev Website Hosting is available for Maglev-built websites. It includes managed hosting, SSL, regular backups and core technical hosting support, so your website stays online and running smoothly without you needing to think about the behind-the-scenes bits. Hosting is $25 per month, billed annually.
Can you work with my existing website?
Sometimes, yes. If your current website has good foundations and just needs a few updates, a VIP Design Day may be the best fit. If the structure, content or design is working against you, I’ll be honest and recommend a bigger rethink. There’s no point putting a fresh coat of paint on something that still feels hard to use.
Do you offer support after launch?
Yes. Website in a Week includes two weeks of follow-up support after launch for small tweaks, questions and settling-in bits. If you need extra support later, you can book a VIP Design Day for things like new pages, treatment menus, website updates, branded graphics or other design tasks.
How far in advance should I book?
As soon as you know you want to move forward. Website and brand projects both need some prep before design begins. You may need to gather content, images, logins, treatment details or product information, and it’s much easier to do that without a last-minute scramble.
What if I’m not sure what I need yet?
That’s completely fine. You don’t need to arrive with a perfect brief. A lot of clients come to me knowing something needs to change, but they’re not sure whether it’s the website, the branding, the structure, the copy, or all of it together. Tell me where things feel messy or outdated. I’ll help you make sense of it.
